A good question,

Well generally Qur'an forbids muslims from eating any other meat on which Gods name has not been pronounced and which has not been cut in a proper way but their is a different approach of Islam towards pork and other non-halal meat.
Pork is considered as the most unacceptable meat in Islam and in Qur'an ,Allah(swt) strictly forbids muslims from eating the meat of pork but their is exception to it. For example if a person is travelling from one place to another and all the food items that he has taken with him finish up soon and during his journey he feels very hungry and he finds no goat or cow on the way and he is in a position of dying from hunger then God shows flexibility in this case and says that if a person in this situation finds a pig, then he can eat a portion of his meat inorder to save his life.
Islam does show flexibility when situation is pretty sensitive but one should not take advantage from that flexibility.
I hope this helps answer your question.

I will inshallah mention in detail why pork is forbidden in Islam in religious debate.
