Sorry for the rant. Anyways, I think he is wrong because I have been to so many sites that condemn sex before marriage.

Well there may be some confusion about the terms... adultery as I undertsand it is when a married person has illicit sexual relations outside marriage... Fornication would be sexual encounters between unmarried people.. Fornication would be considered a sin in most religious traditions whether Jewish, Christian or Muslim... wikipedia has a good overview of fornication at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fornication

In the Baha'i Faith sexual relations outside marriage are forbidden.

Today in many modern societies the standards of morality have deteriorated and there are few penalties for people who engage in sexual relations prior to or outside marriage it would seem...

However I would suggest that in the long term we live with ourselves...that is, in the long haul over life.. there will probably be those incidents in our earlier years that we are less proud of and would rather others did not know much about.... Also I think standards of morality are important as examples for young people and can build character.
