What is the point of starting a church if not to teach some form of doctrine? Are not the churches just like divinity schools/seminaries? Why do even panthiest/deist/pagan/etc feel the need to always start a church? Is it merely to create an environment of spiritual kinship? Is it a tax shelter? It seems everyone needs a church...even Satanism has hundreds of sectarian churches...and there always seems to be an underlying agenda of some kind.
