Baha'i Pilgrimage
Most religions have some form of pilgrimage and in the Baha'i Faith we travel to the area around Haifa, Akko and Bahji in the Holy Land. There are also provisions for Baha'is to go on pilgrimage to Shiraz, Iran and Bagdad, Iraq but these are not possible at the current time so Baha'is go to Israel. A film clip is available that shows some Baha'is on pilgrimage and I wanted to post the article here:
HAIFA, Israel, 23 January 2006 (BWNS) -- A new film about Baha'i pilgrimage to the Holy Land is now available as a DVD. Commissioned by the Universal House of Justice, "Pilgrimage -- A Sacred Experience" is intended to stimulate increasing numbers of Baha'is to make their nine-day pilgrimage to the Shrines of Baha'u'llah, the Bab, and 'Abdu'l-Baha. The film gives glimpses of the different experiences of pilgrims through personal testimonies by Baha'is from a wide range of countries such as Australia, Bolivia, Ethiopia, France, Jamaica, Mauritius, Russia, and the United States. Filmed mainly in the gardens in the vicinity of the Shrines of Baha'u'llah and the Bab, the 28-minute film is available in English, French, and Spanish. Due to the demand for the limited places for pilgrims, Baha'is apply by writing to the Baha'i World Centre. Currently there is a waiting list of several years but plans are underway to reduce that period while at the same time boosting the number of pilgrims. To see a two minute clip of the movie and to order a DVD, go to the web site: http://info.bahai.org/pilgrimage ________________________________ By clicking on the above web site you can see a short film about Baha'is on pilgrimage. - Art

some pictures
My wife and I went on a 3 day visit (not formally called a pilgrimage) to the Baha'i properties in the Haifa area. We are going back for the full 9 day visit next year but this trip was part of our efforts for an international adoption.
Enjoy! Starting on page 2 we get to Israel... http://homepage.mac.com/smkolins/Adoption/adoption.html
