Do we really believe this?

What do you think of I Cor. 3:15? I have included the context to avoid confusion.

Quote:
11For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

Paul is using terms that were familiar with the people of the time. Fire was the tool used to purify metals and to get rid of that which was unwanted, the dross. So too, on the day when our works are examined, the fire of judgment will both purify and remove. This will not affect our salvation, but it will affect our rewards.

Then why do we spend so much time trying to correct other people? Why can't we leave it up to the fire to do its work at the end? Are we afraid that the God will miss something?

We want people to experiance the same joy that we believe, thankfully there are people that can understand that my joy may not be the same joy as your joy and after giving there message will leave you alone the other kind I will answer below.

These are the fanatics who have read something in the bible that says that if we are not saved then we are all going to hell. There ministers and there own self study confirm this, after a while all they can see is that everyone must be saved and the only way they can see that is to show these people the error of there ways by constantly quoting scripture at them.

They have in my opinion an arrogant belief that they and only they are Gods messenger.

Stile:
Would you say this includes proselytizing? I am confused. The LDS Church sends seemingly thousands of missionaries around the world yearly to bring the word to the world. How does this square with your statements above?

BTW, my recent visit to Salt Lake City and Temple Square was amazing! Everyone was so very friendly and informative. I was so very impressed! --Steve--
