Yes, Angeleyes. I see it the same way. The three temptations are really profound, I just realized it a few days ago. When I originally posted the question I did not have the answer. I had been thinking about the three temptations that Jesus encountered, but could not see the meaning behind them nor apply them to my life.

Then when i was driving in my car, listening to music I heard the answers. When I first heard the answers/interpretations I could not see what they had to do with Jesus' experiences, but then I slowly understood:

In the first temptation Jesus had the thought of turning a stone into bread, because he was hungery. The sign of hunger means we are not filled/full. Jesus must have still been in doubt up to the time of temptation, otherwise he would have not experienced hunger.

It is our temptation to believe that we need to do something in order to be supplied with our needs and wants. But spirit is our supply and the physical appearance is just the manifestation of a desire fulfilled.

In the second temptation Jesus had the thought of jumping down from the temple to test God. The test was actually for himself: Will God hold me when I fall? If so, then Jesus would have grown in his faith, but instead he recognized his own doubt. Doubt itself is not of God, but a belief in doubt.


In the last temptation Jesus had the thought that he could have all the riches of the world, but recognized that all the riches of the world are dead. What spirit wants to experience is it Self and Self is not found in the world of the dead, but in the Life of God.

In St.Matt. 4: 17 Jesus said Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand

What is the kingdom of heaven? Where is the kingdom? Is at hand, now? In this Life time?

My understanding of this is that we not only create in the moment/now, but that now is the only "time" past, present and future come together.

In Math. 5:48 Jesus said: "Be ye perfect as your father in heaven is perfect."

Who is the father? Where or what is heaven? What does it mean to be perfect? Can we be perfect on earth? Who defines what perfect means?
