God or Money?
The clearest statement referring to the trinity in the new testament is first epistle of john 5:7 – “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
It is interesting to note the following on the above verse: In 1952 The Revised Standard Version (RSV) of the bible was published –it was revised by 32 Christian scholars of the highest eminence backed by 50 cooperating denominations. They threw out the above verse – 1st John 5:7 as an interpolation, as a falsity, as a fabrication! Why did they throw it out? – it is explained in the preface of the RSV 1952: “The KJ version has with good reason been termed ‘the noblest monument of English prose’. Its revisers in 1881 expressed admiration for “its simplicity, its dignity, its power, its happy terms of expression… the music of its cadences, and the felicities of its rhythm.” It entered, as no other book has, into making of the personal character and the public institutions of the English speaking peoples. We owe to it an incalculable debt. Yet the King James Version has grave defects. By the middle of the nineteenth century, the development of Biblical studies and the discovery of many manuscripts more ancient than those upon which the King James version was based made it manifest that these defects are so many and so serious as to call for revision” They also took out from this version the accession of Jesus! In all the gospels the accession is only mentioned in two places – Mark 16:19 and Luke 24:51. Both these verses were thrown out as a fabrication- these were latter additions which people had added And here is the twist! By 1971 Evangelists and bible thumpers said NO - all these verses are the king pin of our faith - No trinity, no accession, means no Christianity! - and they protested saying that if you don’t put these verses back in we will tell people not to buy your version of the bible. So in 1971 out of fear in not making any money these verses reappear in the 2nd edition They made $15 million net profit on this edition before they came out with a 2nd RSV edition in 1971 where these “fabricated verses” were put back in. This is not religion this is business! If god had said take these verses out –fair enough, if god had said put them back in – fair enough. But no, this is all based on men and vested interests – is this how the word of god is produced? The king james version has gone through 5 major revision by men – verses are taken out – verses are put in, verses are re-written all by men not God. What happen to gods word? Gods word is mixed up with the words of historians and scholars. If you add one word or letter or take one away it is no longer authentic – there have been so many changes to an extent where you cant be sure what is authentic and what’s not. |

I think we just have to accept that the writings about God and Jesus have been changed
I follow ACIM because that is what was shown to me Directly by God, however even though that was written in the mid 70s it has been heavily edited by well meaning people who corrected grammar "so that intellectuals wouldnt **** it" What is apparant is that read from the "ONE" perspective nothing needed editing - what appears as bad grammar is actually accurate in TRUTH. I have to chuckle that the ego finds it necessary to spell check GOD Now that shouldnt bring any fear whether we speak about the Bible or ACIM or any other writing because if we trust in God and our brother they will lead us on the path home - book or no book, errors or no errors, spell check or no spell check ![]() Trust ![]() |
