Ok. I have found a few friends of mine consider themselves Satanists with Buddhist's tendencies. Have you come across any of this? I also tend to like the straightforwardness of this belief system.

![]() For a couple of years when I was around 18, I considered myself a LaVeyan Satanist in accordance with the principles set out in The Satanic Bible. I delved further into the religion and discovered more that further strengthened my beliefs. But, even as a Satanist, I still had a profound interest and respect for Buddhism and studied it on the side. Eventually, one day, I realised that I couldn't fully conform to the ideas set out in LaVeyan Satanism, and over time I found myself aligning more and more to the Buddhist way of thinking. I've also met several other LaVeyan Satanists who also had a deep respect for Buddhism. I guess for me, at the time, I was interested in Buddhism because no wars had ever been started in the name of Buddha, no Crusades had occured for the purposes of spreading Buddhism. Buddhism just spread by being peaceful and using the power of the Word. That always interested me. I also liked the idea that it could independantly from the idea of God. Satanists don't believe in a Creator God, nor do they believe in the stereotypical version of Satan. To every Satanist, they are the masters of their own existence, since effectively our subjective minds 'create' reality and project it. We are, therefore, our own Gods. This is the Satanist way of thinking. So, yes, I've never fully understood why some Satanists have a respect for Buddhism, but following the religion for a while proved to set me on the path towards Buddhism in the end. ![]()

I ask because I'm not very good at living according to a disciplined, regular routine. I am treated by psychiatrists as though I have manic depression, and I can't deny I am chaotic.
So I don't know if I will get anywhere if Buddhism means being calm and sober. I went to a Buddhist mediation group tonight, and I thought the people were lovely, but I was nodding off because this is my 4th night without sleep. x René ![]() |

do buddhist's beleive in God?
is this an external or internal God? did you always have God in you or do now have him upon conversion into Buddhism? or does one never know if there is a God? also with karma - what goes around comes around correct! what about how jesus Christ said to love our enemies. is this Karma or does this Law of Love even exceed karma thanx so much for your precious time - peace!! |
