Hey guys. I was recently baptized into the Pentecostal faith. For a while, I remained steadfast in my faith, hoping to never go through what I've gone through for the past two years: No solid faith in any religion and kinda wandering for a long time.

Now, for some reason, I feel myself drawn back to Left Hand Path practices again. Sometimes I feel that I "miss" it. I figure that it's probably just Satan's temptations getting the better of me again. :/

As of late, I have been doubting and questioning the practice of tongues, and faith healing. I hear people "babbling" in church every sunday, but as so far, I haven't spoken in tongues in church. I have an issue doing it around people; I guess I figure I sound idiotic or stupid doing so. I can speak in tongues while alone, but not with a group. Last sunday I had the pastor's wife walk up to me (second time since I started attending) and ask me if I had the holy ghost. I told her of my experiences in talking in tongues and that ended that question.

Anyone else have this experience?

I came out of a christian background and did spend some time in a pentecostal group.
I eventually had the glossalalia experience and it was quite dramatic and did not involve any laying on of hands to receive it, although I had this method tried several times.
I can still pray this way, but it only occurs at certain times of crisis or difficulty, mostly I do not feel the need, maybe it is just me and my own issues.
There is some kind of powerful spirit behind it IMO.
But most of it is hyper-emotionalism.
The problem with the charismatics is that it is a carnival, a sideshow.
Things that are sacred are scheduled and are to happen on cue.
Spiritual paths require sincerity and devotion to attain to anything without the desire to attain being the focus.
You do so out of love and with no thought of reward, otherwise you prove yourself a hireling and not familia.
Selfless giving is key.
We have grown up in an "instant" generation in a consumer society which focuses on the gratification of the self above all else.
So it is no wonder you are puzzled.
Do what your heart leads you to do and you will figure things out, if you persist.
A feather in the wind has only a random destination.
An arrow shot at a target at least has a chance of hitting its mark.
