I'm originally from south Dakota-the land of the Lakota, though can't say I'm that well read re their beliefs. Am aware of the Hoop metaphoric symbol. interesting to me, (though Jungians wouldn't be surprised), that so many spiritual traditions utilize mandalic figures to represent their most profound spiritual truths. I'm particularly fond of the enso, (probably because my primary affiliation is to zen), which is the principal symbol of zen: a simple drawing of a circle. One story of how it came to be composed in 8th c.e. says a monk asked zen master Isan for words to express enlightenment. He took pen & brush & drew a simple circle saying "thinking about this is third best and then understanding it is second best," while never saying what "best" was. Circles symbolize an inclusiveness that holds everything while simultaneously appearing to be empty containers. in fact, we'd have to be pretty empty to hold everything. take care, Earl

It's not surprising that Her spirit inspires such thoughts now as a new vision of Her return has occurred, and it has come with the Spirit of Christ. The Qualawaloo White Buffalo Calf Woman Spirit came in 1998 as Christ Josephine to two witnesses unfamiliar with the Lakota legend but in 2003 hidden Lakota blood lines showed up in the witnesses family as well as other Signs of fusion of the Christ Spirit with N.A. spiritual traditions.
