A few people have questioned me about the church that I am a minister of and I have received a brochure of our church that I thought would explain it better than I could.

The Church of Universal Harmony was founded by Helene Gurling author of the “White Lotus” series in the late 50’s and is an Ecclesiastical Non-Profit Governing Body.

The name-Universal Harmony-indicates that our philosophy and mission is to present spiritual truth in a “universal” manner and to emphasize “harmony” in the individual path of Life-and-Living.

It is a union of Religion and Science, promulgates the following Seven Affirmatives of the Living Spirit.

1.I AFFIRM the Fatherhood Of God and the Brotherhood of man
2.I AFFIRM the Eternality of Life and Living
3.I AFFIRM the Power Of Prayer
4.I AFFIRM the Practice Of Spiritual Healing
5.I AFFIRM the Reality of the Psychic Principle
6.I AFFIRM Soul Growth as the Purpose of Life
7.I AFFIRM Fraternal Service as the way of Life

Universal Harmony’s Symbol is an illuminated Torch and bears the name of “the Torch Of Truth”

Spiritual Sciences are classified as Religions, Scriptures, Metaphysics, Spiritual Healing, Psychic Research, Occultism, Yoga, Prophecy, Mysticism, Prayer Power, Soul Realization, Inspiration, Revelation. All these are all separate distinct feathers of a fan but when studied and researched together form a oneness.

Neat. I have, if I should ever decide to start a congregation, thought about using the name, "Fellowship (Congregation) of Harmony," "Harmony Chapel," "Harmony Fellowship" or something with the name "harmony" in it.

Is there a website? Maybe I will do a google search.

There is a small blurb that one of Universal Harmony’s ministers entered about the organization from a private site that compares metaphysical religions but from what I read it was probably taken from the brochure that I quoted above. There is no official website for the organization as of yet but Rev. Nancy said that there were trying to put one together.

The affirmations I believe are reasonable and appealing and may have made my decision to become a minister during that time.
