Post Help with Ideas

I am currently working on a series of seminar type events for my circle to encourage a little bit more tolerance/knowledge. We are a study circle and I am wondering if anyone has any good ideas of where I can find some information that won't overwhelm. (I tend to go more in depth when asked questions, than i think they would want from the start)

My current plan is to break it down by religion and highlight how they are similar and different with an on-going chart sort of thing. I'm not quite sure how it would work yet--still in the planning stages.

I appreciate any help that you guys can give me.!

We have overviews of over thirth religions here. Feel free to take notes.

Here is a great little book I love.

"The Message That Comes From Everywhere" by Gary L beckwith

This explores the common core of the world's religions and science.

Kat,

You have an excellent mission ahead of you. A calling not even you are aware of yet. I'm certain you are feeling compelled to share what you are seeing with your group. Not meaning to overwhelm, but, what your group discusses as a result of your studies and intuition, your divine guidance that leads you to one revelation after another, will have an impact on many more than the group you serve. Your intent and aproach to what you percieve to be your goal is something that only comes from God, albeit through you as He manifests the mission using you as it's steward. You are blessed in the widest, deepest manner possible as you open yourself up to His will.

Pray only that you serve His will and thank Him for using you in the way He sees fit for the betterment of all.

All else will follow in His time, not yours!

This is a wonderful idea, Kat, and I am behind you 100%

In your shoes, I would start with one religion, discuss it and its goals and meanings, and move on to another one next week. When I moved on, I would then show how the two are similar, then add a third the next week, etc, but always showing how they inter relate every time you add one. That way, the same amount of attention is given to each religion. If you find that one evening isn't enough, expand it too two or three weeks for each one.

I personally would find it easier to follow that way, because the main focus is on one subject, but also shows how each religion is based on similar ideas.

I hope that helps. If not, just count it as one of my random ramblings.
