Some other free programs that are great are: Spybot Search and Destroy, CCleaner (crap cleaner), Hijackthis, and CWShredder. All of these will get rid of any cookies and tracking stuff that you get tagged with.

I have 3 of the 4 programs you mentioned. That is a great selection Lizskid.
I have ad CCleaner remove up to over 3gb of clutter.

With Antivirus software - beware of frauds! Many will "State" that you are infected, giving false reports and that you "must purchase their product" to remove the viruses. Usually they are advertised along with:

"Scan your pc now FREE"
"Five Star Rated

and usually have names like:

NoAdware
RemoveSpywareForever
Stop Sign.

Stop Sign is awful. When you go to remove it, it will keep asking you why and
giving you reasons not to.Then it will bring you back to the main screen as if nothing had happened. It also installs an LSP (layered service provider) which
basically allows others to control your internet.

I agree on the "free scan" thing, valandez. I did that and supposedly had a bunch....then a bad experience with the product. Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic, put out by the same company. Finally had to dump them both, with no help or refund from the co.

Have you ever seen the horrible ads for "Winfixer"?
