Feeling like an idiot
Alright, for whatever reason my touchpad settings have been reset and I can't for the life of me figure out how to disable the tap-click. FYI, my OS is XP. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some people claim that if you play the Windows XP installation CD backwards, you'll hear people telling you to worship Satan. If you think that's bad, if you play it forwards, it'll install Windows XP!

When Microsoft licensed "Start It Up" from the Rolling Stones (to the tune of $12 million) for the launch of Windows 95, the line they had in mind was "I'll never stop, never stop, never never never stop."
In reality, most people's experience with the product led them to believe a more appropriate line from the same song would have been, "You make a grown man cry."

My most recent MS interesting experience is when I tried to OCR read a Chinese text. Just a few weeks before, the SW + scanner + computer worked perfectly. Then just garbage. So I tried most of the combinations of three computers and three scanners. No go. Frustrated and desperate, I took a snap of the text using my digital camera and ran the resulting jpg file in the OCR SW. Worked, to my utter surprise and relief, like a charm.
A couple of months later, I hooked up one of the printer/scanners to one of the computers to make a perfectly normal image scan. It worked. So I thought, what the heck, and ran one of the Chinese texts using the afore-mentioned OCR SW. It processed the image beautifully, recognizing the Chinese characters to towards 95%. I have no clue regarding what happened, but Microsoft being <******> in many ways, they sometimes do mend what they ****ed up. |

There's a british sit-com of an IT tech support department. They answer most phone calls with a variation of "Roy: Hello IT. {and without skipping a beat} Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
