The chicken or the egg

Which came first, the chick or the egg?
May we ever know the truth?
A thought that's bothered many souls
from their old age back to youth.

Why it's important, I will never know,
though I've wondered about it too.
Surely whichever came first will never be
life changing for me and you.

Yet there it sits, the question that's asked
for so many years.
It's given some folks headaches for sure,
others were driven to tears.

Yet the answer I have, it just came to me,
in a blinding flash of insight!
Carefully considering, thinking it through,
I know that this answer is right.

Eggs are in dairy, chicken is in meat,
and if you really need to know more,
it's really quite simple, follow with me,
"Whichever's nearest the market door!"

So we all "scramble" through the door,
asking which came first,
the farmer or the store?

This is fun, thank for posting it.

I could have put something about that into the poem, but I didn't want to be hard boiled.

It just goes to prove that I'm not always 100% serious. (Actually, I'm not sure that 50% would apply. I always try to have fun and to enjoy life as much as I can.)
