Who wishes for permenance?
I think to most, it seems like something that sounds like a good idea at first, but once any thought is given, it seems more like a curse. Look at the seasons. For me, nothing beats having 4 unique seasons. Makes you appreciate each that much more. If it were 80 and sunny all year round, I would get quite bored. The thought of living forever also doesn't sound pleasant. Again, something that sounds good on the surface, but not once you really think about it. Sure, I've had people pass away that I GREATLY wished were still here with me. But I also realize that nothing lasts forever, nor would I really want it to. I'd hate to be the one to live forever, and watch as everything around me changed and disappeared. As for can "anything" be permenant? Well, God seems to be permenant. So I guess the answer to the first question is yes. |

I don’t think we do wish for permanence, or at least I don’t. I am not sure that we can even really understand what true permanence is. Permanent ink, permanent tattoo, permanent fixture? Nothing in this world is permanent. We don’t really want permanence, what we want is just a little bit longer.
