When we are dreaming, we are not totally unconscious, but dreams that we have when we are in a very deep sleep normally we cannot recall. We are far more apt to remember dreams just before we wake when our sleep is more shallow.
Let me give you an example. Let's say you're sound asleep and the phone rings. If you were totally unconscious, you'd not hear the phone because you'll not be able to process extraneous stimuli. However, when we sleep our brains are in a "sleep mode", much like our computer-- there's activity, but it's minimal. Shalom, Vern |

I personally believe when we dream we are in a state of pure connection with the universal mind..it can be like a deep meditative state. I believe it to be a different layer of consciuosness, so to speak.
