Much love,

Maheen

It could conceivably either make the world blind or allow it to awaken. Jesus said we need new eyes to see. If we exchange our usual eyes for new eyes we could see enough to begin to awaken

However, if it is understood in the usual way it only leads to loss of earthly vision the extent of which is determined by the limits of revenge.

Have you ever heard the old story -- originally Russian, I believe -- about a man who hated his neighbour with all his heart. One day, an angel appeared and told the man "God will grant you any wish; anything at all that you ask for will be granted you. The only condition is this: whatever you wish for yourself, your neighbour will be twice as much."

The man thought for a moment, then said to the angel, "I wish to be blind in one eye!"

In other words, and what Gandhi seems to have failed to understand, is there are some people who would have no problem at all with that scenario.
