Pregnant Man

Recently there was a story about a man who is pregnant. He was a woman who decided to become a man, and is carrying his and his wife's child.

Man Is Six-Months Pregnant, Transgendered Male, 34, Still Has Female Reproductive Organs; Was Artificially Inseminated - CBS News

Then there is the man who claims to be the first man to become prenant.

Male Pregnancy - Mr. Lee Mingwei

What does this mean for the world?

Cross The Pregnant Man Was Still A Woman Inside, Appearantly,

I don't even consider him a man. I'm sorry, and I know he feel like he is a man, but if he's still able to carry a child inside his belly then he isn't a he at all. He is still a female. Who looks like and calls himself a man and has a wife. I guess he is going to have a c-section maybe, if he has had the operation to be a man. But I haven't followed the story totally, only enough to find out what I already knew really.

This person was on hormones and was legally able to change his status to being male. With use of the hormones he has developed what would be a small penis. He actually has intercourse with his wife. He decided not to have his uterus removed so when he found out his wife (legal wife) was unable to have a child they decided he would have it. Other than the enternal organs he is a man in every aspect. He was a woman but is now a man who happens to be lucky enough to have a uterus. I do not consider him still a woman just a very lucky man who is able to do this wonderful thing for the woman he loves, his wife! I admire his ability to be truthful with himself. My best freind, next to my wife that is, is a transgender. She is legally a woman and I never think of her any other way. These people have a very hard time coming to terms with themselves and some end up commiting suicide because of the judgements other people make just as many gays do who are afraid to come out.

I haven't known what to think about this. It will impact society, but I think it will be a while before we see the effects of this.

I have great sympathy for transgendered people. I do have a feeling though that if people are going to become another gender, they might be better off if they completely committed to it. Staying on the fence could cause problems. This man says he kept his female organs in case he wanted to have a child. I'm not sure this is an unselfih act. What is he bringing the child into?

No such thing as a "pregnant man". This is a woman who lives her life as a man. Anyone with a uterus is still technically a woman.

Congrats Sendy on your comment!

Now, my beau's best friend back home is a transgendered male...meaning he is living as a she.

A friend of mine her bf of 3 years is actually a girl.

None of this makes no difference to me.

HOWEVER - What no one has mentioned, in either article or here, is how much therapy, meetings, psych evaluations, surgeries, and recovery time they have to go through to become what they have known they are all along.

Having sexual reassignment surgery isn't exactly something you wake up one day and make an appointment for. Many clinics require you to have lived as the other sex for at least a year, take hormone pills every day for the rest of your life, and never mind the expense or the heartache it may cause friends and family.

Nope, but then again she's a female, and was born as one, living as one. This woman living as a man is still a woman, no matter what hormones she takes. You can tell by looking at her that she was once a woman, and still is.

Men who change to women however are usually better at doing sex changes and living normally afterwards. Some you can tell are still men, but w/e.

As I said, no such thing as a preggers man.

Just as there are several surgeries to make a man look more womanly there are just as many to make a woman look more manly.

And though this person is still anatomically female, to the world she looks as a man, which is what makes this story all the more scintillating. The world thrives on oddities, hence why the old school carnie show is still around with wolf men, midgets, and lobsterman. All three of which are now known as genetic defects, but this doesn't keep us from staring.

I know that you are going to say that this isn't a birth defect, I was making a point about it being different from the norm and therefore it makes a show.
