That's a good guess, but it's not the answer. I've never seen her doing the back stroke.

Tough question again. I would guess the glaciers in Prince William Sound, or the Ipswich River Watershed, located in northeastern Massachusett.

The Ipswich River begins in the northeast corner of Burlington and eventually flows to Plum Island Sound in Ipswich. Stream gradients in the watershed are low, typical of many coastal rivers here in the Northeast US. Along its course, the river and its many tributaries flow through and adjacent to wetlands. The base flow of the Ipswich River is derived mainly from groundwater and wetlands, so during much of late summer and early fall, when evapotranspiration rates (I love that term! And I so rarely get the opportunity to use it!) and groundwater levels fall, often the flow of the river actually begins to flow backwards (at least until it may finally dry up completely)!

Whew. I know this is probably wrong, but I did get to introduce a 'word for the day': evapotranspiration. Use it three times today and it will be with you forever! Amaze your friends, amuse your guests at public gatherings, introduce it from the pulpits, ....OK. OK. I'm done.

I eagerly await your rejection of my suggestion. After a reasonable period of deserved sulking, I'll be back. --Steve--

Evapotranspiration sounds like a new weight loss program. Nice guess but not it. No sulking allowed.

Yeah, it does sound like an interesting weight loss program !!

And, OK, no sulking. After all, you make the rules here. But I am crushingly disappointed. I never do well on these games you run here. Thankfully there are so many clever people here that these riddles are usually solved quite quickly, sparing me huge amounts of lengthy torment and anguish. {{{sigh}}} --Steve--

BTW, Lightkeeper. You've used the word once already today! Try it just two more times and it will be with you forever! --Steve--

I think to figure this out, you have to think of "moves backwards" differently.

She disappeard in the Arizona heat, a victim of evapotranspiration.

He went to jail for stealing a Cadillac. He got ten years for evapotranspiration.
