Official language

I'm just curious how many people here do NOT think that English should be the official language of the US?

In the South west of the U.S. Spanish has been used for many years in many aspects of our society. Our election ballots are printed in Spanish and English and there is a growing Hispanic population as well so it is becoming more like French and English in Canada I think.

It would probably open many doors for the United States to adopt Spanish as an official language..alongside English and who knows? Someday we could have a Spanish speaking President.

Good idea! Let's make Spanish the second language, based on history.

Now, as to the first language, again basing our choice on the same reasoning, should it be Algonquin, Cherokee, Apache, Dakota, Commanche, or what?
