Snowman1 Got Snow?

We had about 2 inches of snow last night. We don't get a lot of snow in the Seattle area, so when it snows over an inch many people stay home. Not enough people put on the snow tires or chains. When it snows at commute time in the evening it usually takes people 4 to 10 hours to get home.

Here's a picture from my window.

I lived at Ft. Lee Virginia for a few months and know it can get cold in that area. From what I hear the East Coast has had some warm weather this winter.

My daughter called me from Seattle at 8 last night. I asked her what she was doing, and she replied, "Trying to get home."

She lives 6 miles from work, and it normally takes her 30 minutes during "rush" hour. She had been in her car since 4:30 that afternoon, and still had 3 miles to go....

I listened to a report on the BBC this morning that Canada is experiencing the most bizarre weather patterns. Areas that should have snow at this time have no snow and areas than tend to have no snow are being blanketed.

I lived in Alaska for 19 years, and during that entire time I was never able to solve the riddle of why something that looked so beautiful on the mountains, in an open field, or on trees looked so disgustingly ugly in the driveway...

Dusted...

Well in my neck of the woods there was just a very light snow dusted our roofs and plants and cars..hardly enough to call an inch but enough to be a little snow dust... The last time I recall anything close to this where I live was maybe some forty or so years ago ... So in my excitement, I ran outside with my camera and took a few shots and realized in the process I had stepped in some doggy doo...oh well...

Art, I wouldn't worry about it too much: we've all of us taken crappy pictures before!
