Ooh I love American Idol. And yes, I can't stand Simon Cowell too, he's a jerk! I think Katherine McPhee is a better singer than Taylor Hicks in my opinion. What about you Lightkeeper, who do you think is the better singer?

What's American Idol?

I'll admit I like the show. Guilty pleasure I guess.
I have no problems with any cruelty or harshness there though. Remember, these are talent producers. The fact that it's televised and primetime only makes the criticisms softer than what they would likely be in the "real world" atmosphere (say, if these auditioners were to simply walk into a studio.) Image is a majority of what gets most people by in show biz (sadly.) Like or not, it's true. Following that, these people who look freakish already have a lot against them. That said though, Kenneth (bug-eyed guy) has a congenital defect. I don't know that it was exactly good form for the judges to have blasted him for that. His singing/dancing (if thats' what you'd call it) were bad though and he should rightly have been blasted for that. Oh, and while we're on the subject of Idol - I'll back up Randy for tearing up that vocal coach. He should not be taking people's money for vocal training if he thought he sounded good. |

Did anyone see it last night?... lol I like the young lady who sang "For Once In My Life" by Stevie Wonder, she has a powerful voice and great singing voice too.

I thought last night was particularly good. It seemed like they had a higher level of singers and it was surprising what they turned away.
Yes, that one lady was terrific and she will probably be in the finals. Just imagine if she wasn't so nervous what she could do. I was interested that Simon said the guy that was the blues singer outsang Taylor hicks.

I was thinking the same too. Although I don't like Taylor Hicks singing all that much, I disagree with Simon that the blues singer outsang Taylor Hicks...but he wasn't too bad I guess. And it's too early to say that he will make it to the finals.
