Stepping Sideways

A game I played called this kind of motion stepping sideways.

I've been trying to consciously step sideways on and off for approximately four years now. A meditation (or whatever) exercise I used to do, and sometimes still do, is look intensely into a mirror until the optical illusion of tunnel vision sets in. Then close my eyes and relax until my eyes feel normal again, as staring at one thing for so long changes the eyes. Slowly I step sideways until I will not be able to see my reflection in the mirror once I open my eyes. Concentrating the whole time. I open my eyes slowly and I see the mirror but my reflection is not in it. I'm not in that parallel anymore; I'm in a new one. It's a lot like an aimless trek in the woods, confronted by a fork in the road with infinitely many paths and "randomly" choosing one not really having a map, not knowing where I'm heading but I do know that I did choose a different path than the one I was on.
