You could sell drugs...!

My son and I as it happens see doctors pretty frequently lately and while dutefully waiting in the lobby, I've noticed some pretty fancy dressed people walking in and out with expensive looking briefcases.. Who were these people I asked? Well I think I figuered it out.. duhhh..

They're Pharmaceutical reps! And here's a description of what you need to be one and they're salaried!

"Pharmaceutical Sales Representative. You don't have to be a physician or even science major to make big bucks in medicine. Just about anyone with a college degree and a killer personality can be trained in pharmaceutical sales. These professionals make sales calls to doctors' offices hoping to convince the doctors to prescribe the latest drugs made by the pharmaceutical company they represent. Seasoned pros can make six-figure salaries in this field.
Typical Starting Salary: $51,104"

NOw these are really high class folks notlike the ones you see hanging out somewhere that could be any Tom, Dick or Harry! These are educated, slick people!

sendy47 will become famous soon enough

This is so true...winning personality will get you a long way in this field...the personality they have is...we often make the statement ..he/she could sell you swamp land...the difference in that and a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative ...is..they will sell you that swamp land and then....unlike the average sales person ...they will make you glad you bought it...how crazy have we become ....

Astreja is a jewel in the roughAstreja is a jewel in the roughAstreja is a jewel in the rough

I studied sales in college as part of a Business Administration program, and IIRC my teacher had been a pharmaceutical representative.

Although I learned the material and got a very good mark in the course, the extroversion and desire-to-persuade was definitely something I had to force out of (or into?) my personality.

However, I can write persuasive essays with ease, which leads me to think that part of the successful sales personality type is tied to one's style of learning (kinesthetic, verbal, auditory) as well. I can see verbal fluency and body language playing a huge role.
