I take most of these so called "findings" with a grain of salt, (which isn't good for you either!). Because it seems like, no matter what the finding, there will be a new study in a year or two that will refute the previous one. Sheesh, it's so hard to keep up with what's good for you and what's not.
I am a firm believer in eating what you enjoy, but always do it in moderation. Heck, I'm gonna die of something some day anyway....I'd like to be able to enjoy a few things while I'm here.

I like a few cups before meditation in the morning, I like the challenge.

I switched to decaf several years ago because I drink so much coffee that it was giving me migraines. But I still love my morning coffee.
I think that what you heard is more hype than based on fact. It seems that people will have a preconceived notion and will do tests that will only prove their notion. A few years later, someone else comes along that really doesn't have a preconceived idea and they do more extensive testing and find that there is little validity in the previous data. It was only a couple years ago that they found that in moderation, coffee is good for you. (I don't drink it in moderation, unfortunately.) |

coffee and moderation go together like jumbo and shrimp...

I must have a coffee first thing...I need it, my body yearns and craves it...after a coffee I resemble a candidate to rejoin the human race !
I only get through 2 or 3 cups a day though.but that first one of the day is a must, hot stong and sweet !!.. I actually heard once that there is more caffeine in tea than coffee...don't know if that's true though...any ideas wonderful peeps ?

Depends on the tea. But really, I'm not convinced that it is definitely the caffiene, though. Like you, I MUST have my morning cup of coffee, and I usually drink 1-2 quarts a day. But several years ago, when I was having 2-3 migraines a weej, I switched to decaf (instant, so I can make it as stong as I want). I find that I get the same "eye opener" feeling, only without the migraines.
