Nightmares - 20th January 2010, 09:44 AM

Can anyone help with a good remedy for nightmares?

My other half is having really violent nightmares. She wakes up crying in the night.

I think this may be a curse, or black magic of some kind. Is that possible, and if so how is it nullified?

Putting aside religious believes for a moment I will tell you when my youngest son was having nightmares we bought him a dream-catcher for his bedroom and the nightmare stopped.

Maybe it was just a psychological thing or maybe not, but his nightmares stopped.

Heh. I didn't think of that! Haven't had a dream catcher in years. Thanks!

(Other ideas still welcome.)

I doubt it would be sourced to magic; most witches, CM's and other magickal Pagan folk tend to have better things to do that cause nightmares...

If you approach the Gaelic gods with 'I'm not worthy', They're going to reply to you with 'Then come back when you are.'

Yeah, well... we happen to know a witch who's out to get us.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but we did the same thing for my son. I don't remember when the nightmares stopped.

Some people you don't want mad at you (your accountant, your dentist, your doctor, your phlebotomist, your lawyer, your local judge, your local police, and your local witch). Seriously, it is my understanding bona fide witches do no harm, for the belief is that to do someone harm, the harm comes back to the witch threefold). Perhaps there is another cause... BTW-- we used a classical music radio station near his bed at night and it worked great. ---Steve---

Thanks. Perhaps there is another cause. After all, a bona fide witch wouldn't hurt someone. Shame this isn't a bona fide witch. Bona fide witches don't kill their husbands... but that's another story...

I'm curious, Steve. Did you tell your son it was a dream catcher and what it was for? In other words, his sub-concious may have worked on the information you gave him and brought peace to his mental battlefield.

Absolutely. We took a cross country camping trip out west and we stopped at a Native American souvener store and my wife asked what they were. She turned to my son standing next to her and said - look maybe this will help you with your bad dreams.

It was either the subconcious doing the trick, or the fact that he was grateful to be sleeping in his own bed after 3 weeks on the road.
