The healing power of the Sun

Today, has been the best day so far of a fairly poor summer, so I've been soaking up a little solar radiation. In my opion it's good for you, getting the balance right is the key, too much and ouch, sunburn, nasty. Just enough, and a healthy glow and a feel good factor comes. In my opinion, sunshine in moderation is extremely benefical for skin complaints, and lifts the mood.

Cheers

Ian

I think you are right, in regard to how good it is for you. Here just a few weeks ago, I saw a new medical finding that plenty of sun may actually prevent or fight cancer. For a long time, we've been told not to be in the sun too much, and not at all without sunscreen, because we might get malignant melanoma. That IS a danger, but the new study showed what they already knew but didn't really put together...sunshine + vitamin D in our bodies = Vitamin A, which is a powerful antioxidant and anti-cancer substance.

So enjoy the sun, just try not to be out so long that you burn.

do not know what it is, but being in the sun makes me feel ill. Perhaps I am not accustomed to it (I am generally inside)

Yes, it can give me a bad headache after about 30 mins lying in it. It's OK though if you go out and about with suitable shades, and maybe a cap. Keep it off your neck is important.

Cheers
