Visualizing

I'm sure that some people here have heard about using visualization techniques to help cure illness. It has even been on the news a few times, usually when someone has overcome an "incureable" disease.

What a lot of people don't think about, though, is that this is an excellent way to get exercise if there are legitimate reasons you can't exercise; living location, health, weather, or what have you. The idea is to allow yourself 15-30 minutes a day for this. Go to a quiet location...the quieter, the better, distractions are not wanted if possible. Then visualize yourself exercising; running, swimming, lifting weights, or whatever. Allow yourself to FEEL what it is like when you exercise - increased breathing and heart rates, tightening and loosening of muscles, and such. If it is hard to do at first, don't give up. Like everything else, the more you practice it, the better you'll become at it. And when you get good at it, you'll probably be surprised when two things happen...first, you'll feel tired, physically, after your visualized exercise, and second, usually more surprising to most people, your body will start trimming up and toning up.
