I've been a Reiki Master for a couple years now. I think of it as what they used to call "laying on of hands." The Universe is so full of untapped energy and Reiki taps into that...I have seen some pretty interesting results from it.

MV...please forgive me for not answering sooner...I've been kind of off and on lately because of things around here.
I think it's usually 3 weekends...possibly 4 to reach Master. I have a dear friend in Michigan that trained me by mail, phone, fax and email...She did my atunements as well. |

Keep in mind that in martial arts you are training the mind and body...in Reiki you are learning only to draw in and use Universal Energy...which of course is always there...just waiting for the opportunity to be used. Thought of that way...does 4 weekends still seem a very short time?

Here's the main Reiki site...everything you always wanted to know about Reiki but didn't know the questions...

Hmmm... Interesting. It still seems way too short for me. Sorry.
On the site you posted, it discussed how during the attunement, your crown, and chakras are opened. Isn't Reiki a Japanese practice? Why is it based in hindu spirituality concepts? (Please don't take this as an offense, I just like asking questions. )
