I am bipolar, and I have some of the same issues. I will say that the lack of sleep will eventually catch up to you, and well...you'll crash.
[list=1] You'll sleep for days
Spiritually, I am not sure what you mean by that. I think that the body and the spirit are interconected. So, if it is happpening to your body it is happening to your soul too. Hope this helped at least some. |

I think sleep is very important to our whole being. Lack of sleep can cause insanity or a similar state. I don't think lack of sleep would be inducive to spiritual growth. One way I found that eliminates iinsomnia is to not get too much sleep at any one time. Not everyone needs 8 hours of sleep nightly and especially as you get older. Try a few nights of 6 hrs. each and see if you sleep better each night.

I don't think its good at all to have insomnia. I can't meditate when I have insomnia. I ain't really a good meditator anyway though. I am too scared to meditate. When I meditate I like to go out of myself, and my spirit seems to prefer high mountains...
But I heard a scary story once when I was a child on a radio station that had people telling differnet stories of their experiences in life. My foster mom would turn the radio on for me, because it helped me to go back to sleep when I had insomnia. So one night I heard a story by this person who said that they went out of their body but couldn't find their way back one time. It was such a disterbing story that my half asleep self got up to go and turn off the radio. So I never found out what happened or how the story ended. I still can't get the story out of my head. So I can't go deep into meditation for fear of not being able to come back out again. ![]()
