Touch

Is physical touch a healthy outlet? Have there been studies to prove that chiropractic, massage, healing hands, hugging are actually good for a person, out spirit or our well BEing? Is touching a good thing or does the other person have to be a good receptor to receive these benefits?

I think that for the average person that the studies are right, touch is a good thing. People are social animals and we need each other in order to be happy. But there are always exceptions to the rules. I have known a few people who are happier by themselves, and who do not like to be touched. For those few, it would be detrimental for them to be touched. So, in a way you must be a good receptor to recieve those benefits. But for most of us, being touched is wonderful, and usually free therapy.

Yes, Rev. Kelly, thanks for pointing that out. I am one of them that does not like to be "handled" I do not enjoy massages and don't go to a beautician because they keep touching my hair LOL. I do enjoy a hug, I do enjoy giving kisses and holding hand, but I can also do without all of it. I am happy all by myself and don't "need" a massage to feel good or relax. I am!

i agree i am the type of person who doesn't like to be hugged or touched but i do go to a chiropractor at times. I do like a hug at times but it has to be on my own terms lol plus i am not into anyone calling me honey or babe just not me i know i am weird at times

I live alone i am happier by myself sometimes its lonely at times but its nice coming home from a hectic day at work just to be alone do what you want when you want to me that is therapy in the best way alone time thanks revkelly
