Does mastubation have any effect on ones health?

My friend living in USA told me that he heard one of the doctor saying that
mastubation doesnot have any mental or physical impact on a person.

How far do you guys agree with this?

Are you pointing towards me Light Keeper? I never considered myself as a master debater or something neither I am geting any money or reward for that.

As far as mastubation is concerned, in Islam, different schools of thought have different views on it but majority of the Islamic Scholars prohibit it but some allow it only in the circumstances where you cannot control your desires but it shouldnot be made a habbit.

mastubation also has a mental and physical impact since the semen that releases from the private part contains elements that are required by your body for the healthy growth of your body and this semen generates from between the ribs and back.

I don't think masterbation can cause physical damage and I don't see anything wrong with it, but....I see a danger if one thinks this is a problem or masterbation is used to suppliment a spiritual void.

An orgasm is the closest we can get as "humans" to experience bliss (state of being one's true Self). When one understands that an orgasm or a drug induced high is a substitude for "the real thing" and only temporary, one is ready to let go of tools and look into a deeper meaning to life and find one's true Self.

Prior to this understanding it serves a purpose.

There is absolutely zero medical evidence for any of those statements.

First, both men and women masturbate, so your statement does not apply to half of human anyway.

Second, semen is produced in the prostate gland and seminal vesicles (no where near the ribs or back), and is primarily sugars for feeding sperm cells, and alkaline compounds to protect sperm from the acidity of the vagina.

If semen were required by your body for healthy growth, then loss of semen through intercourse would be just as detrimental as loss through masturbation.

Masturbation is a perfectly normal activity. The only time it has any negative effect at all is when the individual has been brainwashed by inane religious beliefs to think that god thinks it's nasty. Then what they're suffering is unwarranted guilt.

In addition, there are those who would say that; the reproductive agenda assigned seminal fluid is wasted when not used or shared with a partner intent upon reproducing.

Being sterile, (the daughter I've spoken of on ocassion is adopted) I've never focused on that proposition, however, I can see the logic in other's arguments that masturbating (in excess) may lead to an "easy out" or excuse, to lessen the intercourse of intimacy required to maintain a healthy relationship. It may, for some, be a withholding of intimate interaction (in the short-term) and conceivably turn into a long term replacement for a very important part of a loving relationship, whose practice is easier than meeting the needs a partner might expect or even require.

Man and Woman have intercourse to make a baby .
The 'groovy' feeling of orgasm seems not relevent to the creation of the baby however orgasm does compliment the intercourse allowing the whole baby-making process a grooooovy thing .

A man cannot self-orgasm without thought-trespasisng another in a sexual way .
A man will not 'groovetate' in orgasm without 'thought' and that thought will not be a tree that 'orgasatises' you to 'fireworks in the sky' but it will be a 'person' who you kidnap in sexual thought and release this person after your orgasm .
Your thoughts or fantasies can be gentle but if your sexual fantasies are not of your spouse or lover then they are of someone else turning them and masturbation into 'lust' and more .

I never thought about that Mooomooo. Good point. Is that considered "cheating" if you are in a relationship but fantasize about someone else? Also could it be seen from a certain aspect as "rape" if the person fantasized about is not aware of it and did not give their aproval? I know this might be seem as something small, but is it really?
