Jesus spoke these words after visiting Zacchaeus in his home, Luke 19:1-10.

He then began to tell the parable of the nobleman who entrusted his bond servants with funds, telling them to buy and sell with them while he was gone. Luke 19:11-25. In verse 26 Jesus explains the meaning of the parable.

In verse 27 He continues the parable to its conclusion, in which the nobleman [now a king since returning from his journey] directs the slaughter of those bond servants who did not want him to reign.

Right... the quote is from the nobleman mentioned in the parable and should be seen in that context.... We do have a place on the forum by the way to explore Bible texts...

actually I thought the origional post was pretty darned insulting, ignorant, out of context and obnoxious to begin with...and I am neither Catholic nor Christian...

I mean...if you are going to post an inflammatory, obviously biased (and not in a good way), pretty much rude post, I think you should get called on it...

tolerence is a beautiful thing---but to tolerate outright disrespect and predjudice turns tolerence into apathy and ignorance

I wave the BS flag when I see it...

Thank you, I would agree completely.

If l had said those words through my ignorance or whatever , l doubt if l would be in such a cruel mode, just by asking that , yet you, Benedict16, seem to be offended personally by those words , which l felt did not deserve the reply of "go to another site to say that " would surely have hurt my feelings if you said that to me when all l was doing was trying to do is learn.

I do not know revpo but l thought this Forum was for all and not just the ones that Benedict16 wants here but maybe l am wrong and Benedict16 can be that way to people here but l hope you Benedict16 never speak to me the way you spoke to revpo ,, Benedict16

So Benedict16 , your words to revpo have reached me and hurt me and surely if that is your motive then perhaps a site that caters to this kind of cruel words by you is the place for you.

Whatever ,l didn't appreciate your words to revpo .

mooomooo

My words to revpo were completely justified. I can be a tolerant person, but when someone just comes in, insulting someone who is very important to a million people (Christ), without any reasonable evidence; insults my belief (Roman Catholicism) with a few cheap shots at its previous leaders, and claims that this was all "swept under the rug", while not even realizing how ridiculously wrong he was about the subject matter to begin with it, I get a little angry. So I'm sorry if anyone felt offended, but, frankly, I could care less. However, I don't neccessarily have that big of a problem with this because it involves Christianity, but because it is so overwhelmingly arrogant about a false premise. If someone said something very wrong about Moses, Krishna, Buddha, or any other revered figure, I would get equally as angry.

Let's all calm down here. Please no personal attacks. It does look like
Revpo wanted to start a row and it would be nice if he would explain his first post.
