Islamic History of Europe a documentary movie by BBC

A documentary movie titled "Islamic History of Europe" produced and broadcasted by BBC in 2005 clearly shows how Islam influenced Europe and how it contributed to the progress of the West.

Thanks for the link Fahad. The documentary suggests that that the European Renaissance was founded on ideas promoted by Muslim philosopher Averroes in Europe. While that may be true, what do you think of Averroes? Dont Islamic scholars regard him as a heretic KAFIR? Did the Muslim authorites not burn his books? Everything we know of what he wrote and thought comes to us from Jewish and Christian scholars who held him in esteem. So what is the point of reminding us that the Renaissance was based on the work of someone you regard as a heretic and a Kafir in Islam? Or have I misunderstood your views of Averroes?
