Jews in Austria
Here's an interesting little news item:
Archaeological sensation in Austria. Scientists from the University of Vienna unearth the earliest evidence of Jewish inhabitants in Austria I think it's particularly interesting since it was the 70th anniversary of the Anschluss (the Nazi annexation of Austria) two days ago. The Austirans marked the occassion with public apologies to the Jews... And here there is evidence, in the form of a child's amulet, with the Shema incsribed on it, that the Jews were in Austria before the Germanic people. What would Hitler have said? ![]()
