Heaven is nowhere.
I'm sorry, my space bar button got stuck for a moment. Let me restate that. Heaven is now here. That's better. And yep Heaven is a place and a state of mind AND has more things than are dreamt about in our philosophies. My thoughts on Heaven are that I (literally) have to be "out of my mind" to understand, truly, what Heaven is. I've also learned via insight, awareness and feelings that Heaven is entirely accessible and impossible to be completely detached from. But the experience of "hell" sure makes it seem like complete detachment (from God) is real. Don't it? J |

I think the Lord's Prayer is a prayer about coming into consciousness. Heaven is the unconcious mind where there are no opposites or sense of time, it is eternal.
"Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This is about bringing the unconscious into consciousness and uniting them. "Give us this day our daily bread." Jesus was known as the bread of life. So we are saying give us this day more consciousness.

"A story about Rabi'a has her carrying a burning torch in one hand and a bucket of water in the other. When asked why, she replied:
"I am going to set fire to Paradise and quench the fires of Hell, so that men may worship Allah for his own glory alone." source: http://www.windsofchange.net/archives/004483.php To me my first response when I hear the word heaven is a place we go after we die, a place that is a reward. I have been working hard to remove that idea as my first reaction. I think it comes from my Catholic upbringing. I wish to be more like Rabia, and to not be concerned with heaven or hell. I wish to live a life that is focused only on the love of God. One that brings God's love to my heart . One that makes me a reflection of his light in the world. For me heaven on earth would be to remain in His Remembrance regardless of my situation or surroundings.

Entering heaven in my mind, is entering the oneness of All that is- the Pure White Energy of Love. It is not a journey that be made overnight or in a single day. It is learning, living and expanding consciousness and in doing so we find ourselves closer to heaven.

Hi there!
The general Kemetic view of Heaven as I know it refers to "The Beautiful West", "The Field of Reeds", "Fields of Elysium" but never exclusively the "Afterlife". It is only spoken of using epithets as the ones I mentioned and never simply "afterlife". To the Ancient Egyptians this was a place that mirrored daily life in Egypt, the Beautiful West is the place one goes after death to see one's family, and loved ones and live once again. "As above, so below". This was the Egyptian way of thought being able to make it through the Hall of Judgment and the perilous journey to the Field of Reeds (Heaven). After death the Akhu (Blessed Dead) is symbolized as a star in the night sky. Fortuna ![]()

a panentheist on heaven
Since panentheists believe that nothing exists apart from the Divine, it makes sense to us that once you leave behind this solid four dimensional world (which is created out of and within the Divine), you return to the state that you were in before you were created here. That is, you return to the Divine like an ice cube that melts back into a vast ocean, you once again become one with the Source. Since this is not really reward or punishment, merely a return to our natural state, we do not live our lives in fear. We live so that we fulfill the purpose which the Divine placed us here for. How do we know what that purpose is? We live. If the path we are on is the one we should be on, very few obstacles will be placed in our way, if we are not on the right path, we will continue to run into brick walls until we detour onto the right path and/or the lesson is learned.
Bright blessings! Gavriel
