Tips for a great soup
In Germany we eat a lot of soups, mainly because it's cold there I guess. But I would like to share a simple tip on how to cook a great soup. The foundation of almost every soup (chicken rice, chicken, beef, pork or turkey-nuddle and the famous German Potatoe soup) is the vegetable combination : leak, carrots, celery and parsnips. Cook meat in water, with salt and pepper first, then take the meat out and let it cool off. Add all vegetables (cut up in small pieces) Cook vegetables about 10 minutes, then add nuddles for an additional 10 min. In the mean time cut the meat in small pieces and add to soup. Cook rice separate. Maggi seasoning on the table, for individual use. Voila! A great, tasteful, healthy soup. This is a great two-day meal ; )
