Quote:
Immaculate conception is a doctrine concerning Mary. It means that she was conceived (albeit in the usual way by her father and mother) without the stain of original sin. She was preserved by God of that lack of sanctifying grace that afflicts the rest of mankind, and instead filled with divine grace in order that she would be worthy, when the time came, to become the Mother of God. It is a Catholic doctrine, I think, and really doesn't apply to Protestant Christianity. But Jesus was not immaculately conceived. Jesus was virginaly conceived -- a very different matter altogether. Adam and Eve were not "conceived" at all in the usual sense. They were created. Although I suppose they would have been created immaculately, since original sin came into the world, according to the faith, as a result of their disobedience. Prior to that act, they should, I suppose, have been free of sin. I have no idea what you mean when you refer to Isaac. It seems that God may have made it possible for Sarah to become pregnant long past her menopause, but once God had done that, nothing else was needed. Certainly there is no suggestion in any religion I've seen to say that Isaac, Sarah, or Abraham were without the stain of original sin.

The Islamic definition of God is based on monotheism and doesnot compromises on the uniqueness and singularity of God.
God cannot be described since He doesnot have any physical appearance like human beings, but their are some unique attributes that are only ascribed to Him and He is the only one who deserves such attributes. His attributes are explicitly mentioned in the Qur'an and He has more than 1 names but He is unique and single. When we say that He is one and only, it doesnot mean that we can simply believe Him to be one and worship other man made gods ignoring the one true God. The concept of Oneness of God in Islam(known as Tawheed in Arabic) focuses and emphasises that a man should have faith in 1 true God and should only worship Him alone and should only seek support or help from Him. I want to ask "Eolas" a question that how can you prove that your chosen gods closer to you are better and Supreme than 1 true God whom we believe? If your chosen gods are better than can you prove how they can run and manage the affairs of this Universe much better than God? can your chosen gods do the reverse process? can your chosen gods change the direction of the planets orbiting around Sun in their orbit and make them run clockwise? |
