2:256. There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.

This is one of my faviourites surahs Al-Muminun(23)

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
1 . Successful indeed are the believers



الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ
2 . Who are humble in their prayers ,



وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ اللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
3 . And who shun vain conversation ,



وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَاةِ فَاعِلُونَ
4 . And who are payers of the poor due ;



وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ
5 . And who guard their modesty

And they say: Be Jews or Christians, then ye will be rightly guided. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Nay, but (we follow) the religion of Abraham, the upright, and he was not of the idolaters.

Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord.

We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.

Righteousness Defined:

[2:177] Righteousness is not turning your faces towards the east or the west. Righteous are those who believe in GOD, the Last Day, the angels, the scripture, and the prophets; and they give the money, cheerfully, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the traveling alien, the beggars, and to free the slaves; and they observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat); and they keep their word whenever they make a promise; and they steadfastly persevere in the face of persecution, hardship, and war. These are the truthful; these are the righteous.

Or, Who listens to the ( soul) Distressed when it calls on Him,
and Who relieves Its suffering,
and makes you (Mankind) inheritors of the earth ?
(Can there be another) god Besides Allah ?
Little it is that ye heed !

Or, Who guides you Through the depths of darkness
on land and sea, and Who
sends the winds as heralds
of glad tidings, going before His Mercy?
( Can there be Another ) god besides Allah ? --
High is Allah above what
They associate with Him !

Or, Who originates Creation,
Then repeats it,
And who gives you sustenance
From heaven and earth ?
( Can there be another) god besides Allah ?
Say, " Bring forth Your argument,
if ye Are telling the truth ! "
