Actually these sufis is a perticular group holding a perticular view point and according to them Islam is quiet flexible and because of that they even sometimes deviate from their main teachings of Islam.

They actually penetrated into subcontinent and spreaded the messege of Islam there.

Dear Roel,

Thank you very much for your question. It is an important one and I think brother Fahad and brother Ibrahim have given you a high level overview on it. In my opinion this question raises a deeper issue that why all these divisions in Muslim Ummah? and was some light shed on this topic by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w)? It is a very serious issue that needs to be addressed, in lieu of the current situation of Muslim in the world.

Salam Alaikum,

as far as I know the Qur'an has already been written during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad, may he be blessed.

The question I have is the following: why are the Sura in the Qur'an not in the chronological order?

Salam David,

Actually, not only the order of Surat (chapters) has been changed but also the order of Ayat (verses). Some verses are revealed to prophet Mohamed (PBUH) according to events that happened in Muslim society of that time. The order of verses in Quran is different from the order of revelation of the verses. The present order in Quran was made by prophet Mohamed (PBUH) under God Direction (through Angel Gabriel).

If you examine present Quran, you will notice that verses that have common topic have been rearranged and collected in same chapter. For instance, verses dealing with woman, marriage, relation husband-wife can be found in Chapter 4 An-Nisa. To get into details, you need to read tafseer .

I hope it helps.

Salam Dreams,

thank You very much for Your answer. I asked this question for a special reason: When You make a graph about the number of ayats versus the number of the surat, You get the name of Allah.

From my point of view it is not possible for a human being to create something like the Qur'an, with this design.

So again peace and blessings on the Prophet Muhammad.

Difference between Shias and Sunnis

Roel

Shia and Sunnis both are different sects and both follow different school of thought. Although both have political and historical disagreements with each other and there differences is actually based on politics and history.

But the root cause of there difference is "Imamate"(Leadership). There differences start from the appointment of the 1st Caliph of Islam ,Hazrat Abu Bak(Ra) afer the demise of Holy Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).
Shias believe that Hazrat Ali(Ra) should have been the 1st Caliph of Islam since he was the cousin and son in law of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)but
because Hazrat Abu Bakr(ra) was accepted as the Caliph of Islam by the
majority of the people, he was appointed for that post.

But Shias claimed that Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) already during his lifetime appointed Hazrat Ali(Ra) to be the 1st Caliph of Islam after his demise.

This is where the difference basically starts . Although both believe in same Qur'an,Prophet and God.

Regards,
