These are too funny. My mom went to Germany for 5 weeks and left her puppy with us. We have a border Collie and a "new" 1 year old yorki that is having a hard time remembering that buisness is done only out side. We use the dog training approach we were taught in dog traing: ignor bad behavior and reward good. My mom's puppy was already house trained but that stopped when she came to our house.

I can imagine my yorki told her : "This is dog heaven. Here you can pee and poop where ever you want." ....and she did.

Have you tried crate training (what most vets recommend)? We did this with our mutt, Colby, and rarely have an accident.

Prior to getting our yorki she was in a home where she spent most of the time in the crate. She did her business in there and had it all over her. She sees her crate as a bathroom. We have tried everything, but she is so darn cute, that we just gave up, clean behind her and don't ever put her in the crate anymore. It has gotten better, expecial now that my Mom is back and we don't have the puppy any more. I am convinced that this too shall pass LOL. God thanks for wooden floors, tiles, paper towels and Mr. Clean : )

Ok that explains alot. She was not offered the opportunity to take advantage of her nature. She was forced to elimate in her "den" Poor doggie.

I don't have a solution for this problem.

Viv - A ragdoll cat is a fairly recent breed (since the 70's). They're longhaired and they are large cats. They have alot of the personality of a dog; they follow you around, bring you their toys, etc...... They're quite beautiful too. Here's a photo of our kitten (this is the first time I've tried to post a photo, so I don't know if it will work.............

Yeah, I did it! At first, I couldn't get it small enough, then I got it small and it wouldn't post. But finally I got it - not bad for a 50+ kind of person. :-D
