Butterfly How to keep Spirituality Alive

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on keeping spirituality alive in an area of Arizona where there isn't alot of jewish people? Part of being jewish is having that sense of jewish community. With our busy schedules it is hard for us to get together in a jewish community. We celebrate Shabbat and high holy days but we feel isolated from the rest of the jewish community. How do we help our children to grow up with a strong sense of community without being able to give it to them? I believe in understanding many religions and I would still feel comfortable going in a Church because that is how I grew up. I don't think our children have that same comfort. If you asked me to go into a synagogue the comfort level wouldn't be there. I still know that I would be able to converse with clergy if need be. My kids wouldn't feel that comfort. Any suggestions?

It almost sounds like you would have to move to an area where there are more jewish people. I don't see how you can have community if it isn't there.

Have you searched the yellow pages for synagogues. I think most Rabbis would be very helpful in this case.

They are here but an hour away which makes it difficult for us. We have 4 kids which means that we are always on the go, we may be able to eat as a family 6 days out of 7 but my husband job isn't 9-5 job. We are hoping that our suburb in time will start a jewish community center. Hmmm. I wonder if I could start working with the few other jewish people around here and form something. Thanks for getting my brain working.
