Me and who I am

Hi everybody, i'm Jewscout and i've been asked to lead this forum on Judaism.
I will say that i consider myself a follower of the Jewish faith, but i am not a Jew. I am a non-jew. However i have been studying the Jewish faith for some time, and G-d willing, i will be converting and then i will halachically (jewish law) be considered a Jew. I study and attend at an Orthodox shul here in Richmond VA. I am not a Rabbi or religious authority, just a person with a great love of the Torah and Mitzvot. I will try to answer any questions you have to best of my knowledge and give you links and additional material which i think will be helpful.

I hope that ya'll enjoy!

Where will the Jewish temple be re-built?
And how is the faith practiced as God through Moses commanded it without one?

Is this the place I can question you on some of the prophecies in the prophets major and minor, or do you need to start a new thread?

Hi everybody I am Ben Masada, a Jew from Ramat Gan, Israel.

Hi Paul, you can ask your questions about prophecies. I have been studying
about prophecies quite a bit.

Ben

Hi Ben, and welcome here. I'm a Jew from southeastern Michigan and I've been to Israel twice, but I don't know where Ramat Gan is, so could you enlighten me here a bit?

metis, how easy is it for a convert (like yourself) to immigrate to Israel, if you wanted to live there?

Not as easy as it should be. The chief rabbinate in Israel only recognizes orthodox conversions, and since I'm Reform, the powers that be over there do not legally consider me a "Jew". However, in times of persecution, that tends to change quite dramatically, and the policy tends to be to accept people in on their word and ask questions later.

But to go there and live there temporarily is quite easy, and a friend of mine is over there right now and will be a Israeli citizen shortly even though she's also Reform. If you're willing to go there and work, generally speaking something can be worked out.
