Butterfly Kemetic Faith

Hi all

I am fortunate enough to have the Pyramid Texts in my personal library and I thought I would share an excerpt from this Faulkner translation (Utterance 269):

"A Censing Prayer
The fire is laid, the fire shines;
The incense is laid on the fire, the incense shines.
Your perfume comes to me, O Incense;
May my perfume come to you, O Incense.
Your perfume comes to me, you gods;
May my perfume come to you, you gods.
May I be with you, you gods;
May you be with me, you gods;
May I live with you, you gods;
May you live with me, you gods.
I love you, you gods;
May you love me, you gods."

This is such an innocent and lovely utterance, I hope all of you who followers of the Kemetic Faith will use it sometime at your shrine or altar. It really expresses the love toward Netjer in this offering.
I like the use of the capital "I" in Incense, it seems to personify this element, almost as if speaking directly to Nefertem.
I, in fact, would change the term used by Faulkner, "gods" to Netjer or Netjeru. I think this would conform more to Kemetic practice, however, do as you wish, it is still a beautiful Heka and I hope you enjoy it.

Warm regards, Fortuna

Tulip Conversion Notice

Hi Everyone,

Some of you probably already know that I have converted to Christianity recently. I was baptized in January of 2007 and I am in the process of converting from Protestant to Catholicism by way of studying the catechism.

My lifetime of research (over 40 years) has led to make this choice.
I will happily answer any legitimate questions concerning this decision.

However, I will be happy to continue to answer questions on Kemeticism and offer information and assitance to anyone who is interested in this area.

I hope to hear from many of you soon.

God Bless, Fortuna

Where is the Kemetic Faith from? What are the requirements to practice, if any? What are the major deities of this faith and what do they represent?

I was raised Catholic, and I couldn't wait to be old enough to be removed from my mother's control so I didn't have to attend mass anymore. For me, being Catholic was a poor fit. So I have been very curious to know what about Catholicism do you find appealing? Why does it fit you?
