I live in Muncie, Indiana. I was born in Dominica but I moved to the US about 20 years ago.

2. Are you are married? Single? Do you have children?
I am married. We have three children. My family is a commuting family. The wife and kids live in Maryland, which is where I am posting from now.

3. Do you have any pets? What kinds?
No pets, unless you count the mosquitos that come around from time to time.

4. What are your hobbies and/or interests? What do you do to relax?
Music is my main hobby. These days I think to relax.

5. What kind of work do you do? Do you like where you work? Do you have plans for making a job change?
I am a Statistician at a local university where I consult with faculty and students on research issues. I am hoping to be able to move and join my family in Maryland.

6. What is your favorite kind of music? Who is your favorite musical artist? Do you play any musical instruments? If so, what do you play? How well?
I play the classical guitar and play the piano well enough to provide accompaniment for the small church I attend.

7. Would you rather read a book or watch a movie? What was the last book you read? What was the last movie you saw?
I prefer a book. The last book I read was Consilience by E. O. Wilson. I am now reading The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by Kuhn. The last movie I recall seeing was Shawshank Redemption a long time ago. I only saw the first part of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest two weeks ago. I went because it was filmed on my island home.

8. Are you an ordained minister? If so, how long have you been ordained? What is your religion or spiritual path? If you are ordained, does your ministry follow only your beliefs or do you minister to others outside your path?
Yes. I belong to the Seventh-day Adventist church but my personal theology is a bit different these days.

9. Are there any sports that you like to watch or participate in? What are they? What is your level of participation? Favorite teams or performers? Any sports you used to participate in but don't anymore?
I don't participate in sports actively. I used to play soccer and cricket in high school. I watch soccer, golf, cricket, and American football. I support the West Indies in Cricket. I am more a fan of sports than a fan of any team.

10. What do you see yourself doing in 5 years? 10 years?
I hope to be running a global institute in the next 5 years.

Super start!

What is the one thing you miss the most about the Island of your birth? What is the one thing that you like the most about living in the USA?

I miss the opportunity of going mango hunting after a recent rainfall. I think general opportunity is the one thing I like most about living in the US.

I was curious, did your theology begin to differ in conjunction with or in preparation for your job as a statistician? Stats tend to be a very logical (in the mathematical sense) pursuit and I was curious if discecting raw data like that influences the way you analyse other aspects of your life?

Strangely enough, that was not the case with me. I obtained a degree in Theology in preparation for the ministry. At some point I realized that what I was saying the Bible said was not really in the text.

Life is a journeywith occasional stops to enjoy the scenery or to overcome an obstacle. I am happy to be on the journey. My purpose is to be all that I can be and to get all the things I want. That is the purpose of life.
