I'm not sure that I can honestly answer that, at least in a way that would give proper attention to the question. There are many many things I've learned over the years from this path. Some might sound a bit cheesy...I've learned not to take things for granted, and to have a greater appreciation for everything I see. But it goes a long way beyond that, too.

Do you see a connection between ego and illness ?
As such, not necessarily. However, I'm totally convinced that a person's mind set directly affects their health, both positively and negatively. Nor do I think that all ego is a bad thing. But when it is taken to the extreme, I certainly see a connection between ego and illness. Part of that, though, is not really to do with the mental set. For instance, someone who is very egotistical is less likely to care about anyone or anything, so they are less likely to take care of themselves.

How does one become disfragmented ?
How does a person become fragmented, or how is this reversed? There are a few ways that a person can become fragmented, but the most common is when there is trauma. 'Near Death Experiences' often cause fragmentation, because at the moment of death, the spirit will attempt to cross to the lower realm. When the person is revived, the spirit, in effect, is "jerked" back. That can shatter the spirit, so that some of it doesn't return as it should. To return in and reverse the process, it must be first found and brought back to this realm. That is the hardest part. Once this is done, though, simply bringing it in close proximity of the person it belongs to is usually enough. It is sort of like putting two magnets close together.

What other realms exist ?
Different shamans may see a larger number of realms, depending on how they were taught, where they live, their beliefs, etc. I believe that there are 3 realms, and I see the 'additional' realms as just sub divisions, the same way that a city could be divided into urban, suburban, business, and various other sections...to me, it is still one city. The upper realm is a spirit realm of light, and most of the spirits there are tremendously powerful. I've spoken of the lower realm. And the physical realm is the one we are most aware of.

I did, and answered at length, but my ISP was really doing wierd things and killed my whole post. I will answer it again in a little while...I just got in from mushroom hunting for the last couple days and I'm bushed, so I might just go in and take a nap before answering. By all means, remind me to get an answer, if I don't do so fairly quickly.

Computers, gotta love em, except when they frustrate ya. Nothing is more annoying them typing something only to have it end up being lost.

I totally understand, no worries.

Have a nice rest.

Sorry for the extra delay in answering this. I was tired from our mushroom picking camp trip and went in to take a nap...didn't wake up until 3 this morning!

What ways do you use to learn that all life is linked together ?

Directly or indirectly, yes. Sometimes our actions themselves are what are influenced by spirits. That is NEVER an excuse, when we are talking about something we do have control over. For instance, just as with people, some spirits are selfish, egotistical, self centered, etc. Influence of this sort of spirit results in a person more likely to be selfish, egotistical, and self centered themselves, even if they normally aren't that way. This isn't hard to figure, though, because the same thing will often happen if we are around this sort of person a lot...some of it rubs off. But if it is just an influence, we DO have control over it, if we are aware of it (which is then the first goal-awareness). The person who eats high fat foods, seldom eats anything that is good for them, and never exercises, is not going to be in great shape.

In the case of more direct intervention by a spirit, more has to be done to correct it, and at times a person will be sick, but doctors will not be able to find a reason for it. This is a "red flag" that something is going on in the spirit realm that directly affects that person. A fragmented spirit is only one of the things that it could be, which is why it is hard to figure out sometimes.

As for the tools I use to reinforce the idea of the web of life, I'd have to say that the most powerful is simple observation and inquisitiveness. Everything operates in cycles, and with enough observation and questioning, usually a person can go from one thing and how it affects another, to how that effects another, to another, and eventually back to the original thing, the source. (It has been called the "butterfly effect" by some.) Sometimes I get some insights from my guide, though. This is sort of different, because the guide will seldom answer directly, it is more like answering with a riddle, so then I have to figure out what is meant. This isn't a bad thing, because I'm much more likely to remember it for a long time if I do that.

Bluebird Thanks for all of your posts about Shamanism,

I have always been interested in Shamanism since I was a kid. I have also always been scared of it because of my Christian beliefs. I read a book about a woman who went to stay with a Medicine Woman to write a book about her, and she experienced some strange things. Shape Shifting was the most scariest of them all.
