Hi Community!

Thanks for having me! I have visited a message board before, but it wasn't at all like this. I'm gonna feel my way around...hope I do O.K.

I am a student of Comparative Religion so this is all extremely interesting to me. I love to learn about and relate with people on many levels, but exactly what makes people 'tick' is what I'm after. Religion and philosophy is a cool way to get at that.

One thing that struck me as kind of funny (and in some cases a shortcoming) during my college career was the 'objective' perspective with which we were trained to approach most, if not all issues. To explore a little bit around here is so interesting because you guys don't seem to live by that rule. Perhaps the college perspective is "on a hill" so they say... but I definitely think there is an un-sung value and importance associated with getting into real dirt with people, as long as you can do it civilly, open-mindedly, and respectfully. I'm completely stoked to be invited to join a group of people who seem to have something as beautiful as this going. I am so thankful.

As far as myself, it's music that makes me tick. And as I spend more time on Mother Earth, I am more and more enraptured by Nature as well. I happen to not subscribe to any particular "religion". Not to say that I'm not spiritual..... not by a long shot. I just don't associate with a larger spiritual group, other than the loose generalization of being a lover of Phish.

Anyway, hope that was good enough. I will tell more stories when relevant. For now I'm hopping over to another thread that piqued my interest....

Thanks everyone for being here and being kind and open!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much Lightkeeper! I forgot to say: you can call me Kiley (my "real" name), or Millie, or Slayer, Wiley or Wiles, or Slayski, Grace, Sugar, or Raven, or Stitch-knit. I have many a nickname and love 'em all. Choose your weapon I suppose... as long as it's spoken with affection, I'll most likely respond...
