First post saying hello
Hello and peace to all!
This is my first post to the forum, and I'm glad I found it. I came across it on Myspace, and thought I'd come check it out. I love interfaith groups, discussions, and get-togethers. I think we could all benefit by keeping an attitude of love and tolerance when it comes to religion and faith. I am a 33 (almost 34) year old happily married homeschooling mom. I love my work, and my students! I am Native American, enrolled with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe of Ignacio, Colorado. I am a Baha'i, having just officially declared my belief in Baha'u'llah this past August 6th. Finding the Baha'i faith was like coming home after a long period of traveling. I had been studying Christianity since I was 7, and studying other religions since I was in my 20s. I've loved every religion I've leared about, but only discovering Baha'u'llah as the Prophet for this age was what seemed right. I have a deep love for all religions, most notably Catholicism, and Islaam. It seems the Baha'i faith unites these two religions. Besides Baha'u'llah and Abdul-Baha, I have a special devotion to a number of deities and holy people: the Virgin Mary, Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa, the Medicine Buddha, Kuan Yin, Muhammad, and Ganesh, to name my favorites. But there is a place in my heart for all holy men and women, fabled or not. It is my hope to engage in some meaningful dialogue with the members of this forum. I certainly do NOT want to argue, but to discuss our views in peace, tolerance, and love. Love, UTE_NDN |
