I'm a 65 year old theologian with a graduate degree in historical theology. That is basically the historical study of worship. My specialty is monasticism and the history of the great religious orders from the desert in Egypt of the 4through 6th centuries through modern monasticism. I'm Jewish by birth and by choice but my view of God is more Deist than it is theist. I live with a rather butterball-sized black cat named Midnight and he is, at the moment, trying to erase this posting so I can play with him.
I look forward to participating. Karen

Hi Karen and welcome. One day I'll have to ask if your research has revealed the essence of Christianity being practiced in ancient Egypt. I learned that some rituals adopted by the church fathers were taken directly from those practiced in ancient egypt.
Don't let Midnight interfere wi9th your posting. That would be a "catastophe." ![]() |

Welcome to the forum, Karen and Midnight. I will be very interested in reading the views of a theologian who has more deist leanings than theist. I hope to have the opportunity to learn from your posts.
